1. Whats the Difference Between Situational & Personal Safety Training? They're somewhat different and there's a great deal of overlap.
Situational Awareness is an organizational function related to workplaces and public spaces. Personal Safety focuses on individual behavior. All the skills we teach will help you create safer environments- in public or private places. Safety is essential to well-being. Pretty Loaded ™ offers three options for both programs : in-person corporate training and online courses, (instructor led or on-demand). |
2. How Do I Take a Class In-person?
Schedule Situational Awareness & Personal Safety Training through me (below) or call 701.484.6306.
- Pretty Loaded ™ classes with me are delivered in person or online. I serve the I-5 corridor, from the greater Puget Sound to Vancouver, BC. And, I love to travel.
- Add a YOGA or NIA DANCE class to your corporate training.
- Ask me about scheduling a semi-private or group class at ZENA STUDIO, in Seattle.
- Take a free class on-demand, at Nia TV.
“ Thank you Lee. I enjoy your class- the variety and flexibility in your teaching. It’s very helpful when you move around so that we can see poses from different angles. I always learn something new. "

3.Do I Have to be Fit to Take a Class?
No! I've taught all levels of students for many years. Just bring water and an empty stomach.
NIA DANCE incorporates three martial arts (Aikido, Tae kwon do, and Tai Chi.) YOGA is also a soft martial art. Pretty Loaded ™ introduces basic Krav Maga (self-defense) techniques, which we'll practice during a live or instructor-led training. |
5. Why Do You Do This?
Like many people, my life has been touched with violence. When a man tried to rape me many years ago I instinctively fought back hard enough to deter him and escaped injury.
After that, my plan was to stay fit enough to outrun a predator or at least put up a fight. So I began studying martial arts. I don't live in fear or let the possibility of danger keep me from jogging and hiking. But, I do think strategically. As a woman and mother of daughters, I know the safety issues females face at every age. When my son was brutally assaulted by a drunk customer, it was a reminder that safety skills are for everyone. |
